After a long trip to the Pacific Northwest last year that involved flying and attending a photography conference, we decided this year we would simplify things and stay closer to home. We first visited the Shenandoah National Park on our way to New England on our 2019 road trip, staying only 2 nights at Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park. We have traveled on the southern part of the Blue Ridge Parkway many times since it is so close to home. This trip we will spend time in each of the three sections of the Shenandoah. Then we will concentrate on the Ridge, Plateau, and Highlands Regions of the Blue Ridge Parkway. (With one exception - due to an extensive 2 year road repair project the only part of the BRP that we have never driven, from Blowing Rock, NC to the Blue Ridge Music Center in Virginia, milepost 229-276, will be closed so we will have to skip this part yet again.)This trip will be shorter than our past trips, 2.5 weeks. I will use the format that I have used in the past for organizing this website with planning pages and a daily journal using the website blog.
